March 1st saw the eagerly anticipated weights released for the 2022 Cheltenham Festival handicaps which gave us the opportunity to start eyeing up the best value handicap bets for The Festival!
We have whittled down our shortlist to two well fancied Irish raiders along with a couple of well handicapped outsiders. We will guide you as always to the best Cheltenham odds provided by our partner firms!
KILTEALY BRIGGS: The Ultima Handicap Chase, Tuesday 15th March
Novices have a good record in this race and this Jamie Snowden trained 8-year-old has, according to connections, been laid out for this race.
Although his form has come in smaller fields, he has put in some good performances over the trip and his pedigree is the right type considering his dam is a sister to Grand National winner Ballabriggs. 20/1 best with Bet365.

GAELIC WARRIOR: The Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle, Tuesday 15th March
Rich Ricci is synonymous with winning at The Cheltenham Festival and a future star in the making is the hot rumour surrounding this French import. He may seem poor value at 11/4 (William Hill, Betfred) but with a rating of 129 this could be the Cheltenham handicap snip of the week.
DEPLOY THE GETAWAY: The Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle, Friday 18th March
Willie Mullins is predicted to have an almost vice like grip on the handicaps this year considering the number of entries he has committed.
Deploy The Getaway looks the right type of unexposed horse that the County Carlow handler often produces, and he is expected to run a big race in the final race of the week, The Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle.
The horse has one point to point win to his name and proved his stamina in a listed race at Punchestown recently. 12/1 NRNB with bet365.
SAINT FELICIEN: The Coral Cup, Wednesday 16th March
This looks like a very intriguing handicap entry for this Gordon Elliot trained 5-year-old who is very highly rated by the County Meath handler.
He ran well in the Grade 3 BetVictor Limestone Lad Hurdle finishing second when odds on favourite on unsuitably quick ground. Looks set for a Grade 1 career and could make an impression with a decent mark in this highly competitive handicap hurdle on day 2 of The Festival. 10/1 with William Hill and paying 5 places with NRNB.
COEUR SUBLIME: The Grand Annual Chase, Wednesday 16th March 2022
An interesting entry indeed for the Grand Annual. This Henry De Bromhead trained horse holds an entry for The Arkle but looks set to take his place in the 2-mile handicap.
He has responded well to a chasing career since finishing second in the Triumph in 2019 and a rating of 151 is generous considering he was at a mark of 155 when he was hurdling. 10/1 with bet365.
WINTER FOG: The Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle, Thursday 17th March 2022
Emmet Mullins will be remembered for last year’s Festival when he pulled off a superb coup with The Shunter who was steamed into 9/4 and won comfortably in the Plate.
Lightning could strike twice with this useful looking 8-year-old who ran a decent second in a Leopardstown qualifier. You might baulk at the relatively harsh rating of 138 but there is definitely more to come and could run very well if a decent pace is set. Has been fiercely backed in recent days down to 15/2 (bet365)

WEST CORK: The Randox Health County Handicap Hurdle, Friday 18th March
Impressed many with his astounding win in the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle last November over course and distance after an absence of nearly 2 years away from the track.
The horse has been primed for this by trainer Dan Skelton and is racing off a mark which is only 7ib higher than his Greatwood win. He has not raced since an Ascot defeat back in December which is part of the plan as he clearly runs well fresh. 8/1 with William Hill and Betfred.
