As the handicap weights for Cheltenham Festival 2025 were released last week, it is an exciting time to start scrutinising the maze of finding the winners of the Cheltenham handicaps.

This Margaret Mullins trained Irish 6 year old stays well in handicap hurdles and may take out tired horses on the run in up the hill. Well treated by the British handicapper. Also entered for The Coral Cup but more likely to gain entry to the Martin Pipe.
The horse can also take advantage of the new rule which states that all entries must have ridden five times prior to Cheltenham Festival 2025.

Park Of Kings, The Coral Cup, Wednesday March 12th
This horse has been slightly overlooked and comes into this having run well in Irish handicaps most noticeably staying on well behind Al Gasparo last run where he was given a lot to do but did well to finish second.
The Coral Cup distance should suit, the horse hails from a stable with a fine record in this race. Best odds 25/1 with Bet365 paying 5 places.
Liam Swagger, The Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle, Tuesday March 11th
Smart performer on the flat and coming into this on a very handy mark of 124 (10st 10ib), he could be another overlooked contender. He has won two hurdle races out of two. Trained by James Owen. Excellent value with Bet365 at 25/1 paying 5 places.
Transmission, The National Hunt Novices Handicap Chase, Tuesday March 11th
This eight-year-old trained by Neil Mulholland has a habit of dropping well behind in these big staying chases but rallies effectively in the closing stages of his races. This could be the ideal performance needed for this kind of race. 6/1 best odds with Bet365 paying 5 places.
Marble Sands, The Plate Handicap Chase, Thursday March 13th
Marble Sands has some good Cheltenham form behind him having finished a respectable second to Springwell Bay. The British trainers do ok in this race whilst Marble Sands’ stamina and his mark of 143 could be useful based on his hurdling form. Best odds of 25/1 with Bet365 paying 5 places.
Karniquet, The County Hurdle, Friday 14th March
Willie Mullins has a formidable record in this race, having saddled recent winners State Man and Absurd to victory. 
He could be unleashing another immense talent in the shape of Karniquet who won well on his debut and was very unlucky in defeat to Kopek Des Bordes last time out. Sure to improve and without the booking of Paul Townend this time, he may go off at a decent price.

Win Some Lose Some, The Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle, Friday 14th March
Our main tip for The Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle is a horse we have featured prominently in our antepost previews earlier this season.
Win Some Lose Some trained by the prolific Gordon Elliott is very much a progressive sort who has already accumulated four wins from nine starts.
His latest win in a Pertemps qualifier at Leopardstown was impressive and lots of winners of this race have originated from this qualifier. He should also have no hindrance from the 10ib penalty from the handicapper. Best odds 7/1 with William Hill.
