Chelsea Vs Aston Villa
Wednesday 21st August 2013: 7:45pm
Mourinho's second game is against former basement-battlers and recent 'giant' killers, Aston Villa. After a wondrous display against 'giants' Arsenal (we love sarcasm), spirits must be high in the Villa camp.
That's not to say they'll be able to replicate the feat against a clearlyt stronger Chelsea team. But, in football you can never say never. We're just saying 'probably not'.
Villa win looks unlikely
Wednesday's game has Chelsea best-priced for the win at 3/10 with Paddy Power. The draw is 19/4, while a Villa win is something nobody expects apparently, way out at 11/1.
We don't think Chelsea will have it all their way, but might turn on the class towards the end. A 3-1 Chelsea win looks pretty tasty and is 11/1 with Stan James. If you fancy the margin, but not the scoreline, Chelsea to win by two goals is 31/10 with Ladbrokes.
Whose time is it anyway?
Oh to be Jose Mourinho and be blessed with a plethora of young attacking talent. Arsene Wenger would probably bite your fingers off just to own Juan Mata's left big toe.
So this begs the question: who will start and who will score? Juan Mata was left out of Sunday's game against Hull with a knock but may return against Villa. He's 11/4 for Anytime Goalscorer with SkyBet on Wednesday.
Already off the mark with two goals against Arsenal, Christian Benteke will fancy his chances against an aging John Terry. The mighty Belgian is 7/2 with Betfred to find the net anytime during the game.
Goals goals goals
We fancy both teams to score during this one. It might take Jose a little longer to tweak the defence to its former miserly status, and Villa look sharp up top. Both teams to score is 11/10 with SkyBet.
Fenerbahce Vs Arsenal
Wednesday 21st August 2013: 7:45pm
You wouldn't want to be Arsene Wenger if he loses this one. Arsenal fans are getting restless, and failure to qualify for the Champions League proper would be like pressing the big red button that says 'DO NOT PUSH'.
Unfortunately for Wenger, this will be no walk in a Turkish park (which, depending on where you go might be quite dangerous anyway). The Gunners will have to be at their best to get a result here.
Honours even
Arsenal are 17/10 with William Hill to win this one, while Fenerbahce are only marginal underdogs, at 7/4 with Ladbrokes. The draw is what we like the look of though, and at 5/2 with BetVictor it might be worth sticking something on this.
For our money's worth, a 1-1 draw is what we'd go for. The game promises to be a cagey affair, and William Hill will offer you 13/2 on the 1-1.
Eme-nicking a goal
Fener's rapid and powerful Emmanuel Emenike will definitely give Per 'Arctic Lorry' Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny a run for their money on Wednesday night. SkyBet have him at a cheeky-looking 12/5 for Anytime Goalscorer.
For cards, we'd say Mertesacker is a shoo-in to get at least a yellow on the night. Against Emenike he's going to be run all over the place, and at 6/4 with BetVictor, you wouldn't want to bet against it.
