Leicester City to Win Both Halves (away to Newcastle United)
Due to the Burnley vs Fulham postponement, the first Premier League game of Sunday is Newcastle United vs Leicester City from St James Park. Both sides come into the game off the back of draws, with Newcastle getting a nil-nil against reigning champions, Liverpool and Leicester City getting a 1-1 draw away to Crystal Palace. If you believe the run of draws continue, you can get 3/1 with Betfred on the draw!
Newcastle will be without Isaac Hayden who is suspended to add to a long list of absentees. Meanwhile Leicester City have more positive news with Maddison and Fofana both likely to feature in the game.
Jamie Vardy should start after coming on as a sub against Palace. Vardy looks most likely to score, and priced at 5/2 to score first with bet365, and 8/11 with bet365 to score anytime. Leicester City have a pretty strong away from home record with six wins out of eight (only losing to Liverpool) so Leicester City backers should feel confident. Leicester City are priced up at 4/6 with Betfair for the win which looks fair. Newcastle haven't scored in their last three games so the 5/4 on Newcastle not to score with Betfred might temp some!
Brendan Rogers side are 8-0 up in the last two games between the sides (a 5-0 win at the King Power and 3-0 win at St James Park). You can get 9/5 with Paddy Power on Leicester City winning to nil in this game. Newcastle United have only won two of the last eleven games between the two teams, and are odds of 9/2 with Betfred to beat Leicester City!
Newcastle United have been pretty lucky not to take a hammering in recent games. Newcastle give away a lot chances the and rely on a lot of last ditch tackles and saves. My prediction for Newcastle vs Leicester City on Sunday is that Newcastle will be put to sword by Jamie Vardy, James Maddison and Harvey Barnes and co. Chelsea to Win and Over 2.5 Goals in the Super Sunday clash vs Man City
Chelsea vs Man City is the headline game of the first Premier League Super Sunday of 2021!
The coronavirus situation at Manchester City is the issue getting much of the attention. So far Kyle Walker, Gabriel Jesus and three unnamed players are in isolation. We will of course know which three unnamed players on Sunday.
Man City haven't played since the 2-0 against Newcastle United on Boxing Day, so will have a much bigger rest than Chelsea. Whether that plays into the hands of Manchester City or not is up for debate. If you do fancy this gives City a boost you can get 13/10 on a Manchester City win with William Hill.
Chelsea only have one win in their last five league games, so some may view evens with Betfred on Chelsea as too short! But Chelsea have a reasonable recent home record against Manchester City with three wins in their last four league games, and two out of the last two. Chelsea winning score lines, 2-0 (18/1 with bet365) and 2-1 (11/1 with bet365) in that sequence. Also Man City have lost more Premier League games against Chelsea than any other team.
Given there is so much uncertainty about the Manchester City lineup, I can't justify picking out any Man City players to score! Hakim Ziyech should feature after missing the festive period with a hamstring injury. Ziyech is odds of 19/5 to score with Unibet. Ziyech's inclusion might be make it more likely Werner and Giroud get better service, you can get 21/10 on Oliver Giroud scoring (Paddy Power) and 13/5 on Timo Werner (Bet Victor).
Chelsea are due a result and I reckon the circumstances will help Frank Lampard out. I'm going for a Chelsea win and Both Teams to Score (BTTS) at 10/3 with Betfred! Have a bet on it!
