Fulham v Aston Villa
Sunday 8th December 2013: 1.30pm GMT
Fulham looked revitalised by new manager Rene Muelensteen in their midweek game against Spurs, only going down to a late pair of outstanding strikes after taking the lead. The visiting side have been struggling for goals in recent weeks, with lead man Christian Benteke not scoring since his return from injury, but come off the back of an impressive 3-2 win against Southampton at St. Mary’s. Fulham are best priced at 7/4 with StanJames and Aston Villa are best at 9/5 with Paddypower. The draw is available at a tempting 40/17 with Unibet.
Cagey at the cottage
We think this may well be very tight affair at Craven Cottage, however, with Aston Villa’s ruthless away form we have to back the Midlands side. Aston Villa to win by 1 goal is available at 18/5 with BetVictor.
When away from home, Aston Villa are able to take advantage of the more adventurous play of the home team they are facing – allowing Villa to do what they do best, hit teams hard on the break. Much of this counter attacking prowess relies on the pace of Gabriel Agbonlahor. The home grown brummie is available at a huge 8/1 with Coral – which has to be worth a punt.
Arsenal v Everton
Sunday 8th December 2013: 4.00pm GMT
The home side maintained their four point lead over the rest of the pack on Wednesday, whilst Everton went and beat United for the first time in years at Old Trafford. This is where I make a joke about David Moyes still being an Evertonian – but I’m lazy, so let’s go on with the odds. Arsenal are best priced at 8/11 with Paddypower whilst an away win is at a huge 19/4 with Bet365. A draw is available at 3/1 with BetVictor.
One too far for Mar
Roberto Martinez’s men sealed their 1-0 victory with a Bryan Oviedo goal in midweek, but their chances of doing something similar at the Emirates are slim. The Guners are on a rampage, conceding no goals in their last four games (whilst scoring nine) and a repeat of this trend is very tempting - an Arsenal win to nil available at 21/10 with Skybet.
Elsewhere, Theo Walcott looks great value to grab a goal for the Gunners. After taking a few weeks out to sort out an abdominal injury and write some more children’s fiction, the English winger has been eased back into the side, usually as a late substitute. With Arsenal’s midfield feeding him against a tired Everton defence, a Theo Walcott last goalscorer is available at a tasty 7/1 with BetVictor.
