Everton Vs Tottenham
Sunday 3rd November 2013: 1:30pm
This game has always been interesting over the years due to each team's desire to break into the Top Four and establish themselves as a major player. They've gone about it in different ways: Spurs have flashed a bit of cash, while Everton have steadily improved the squad on a shoestring year by year. A win for either could be pivotal in their attempts to gatecrash the party this year; a loss doesn't bear thinking about.
Spurs come unstuck against... Toffees?
Spurs have been doing well away from home recently, but this is where it could all go wrong. AVB's men haven't been playing to their potential recently and against a tasty looking Everton side they could be found out. Everton are 6/4 with BetVictor for the win on Sunday, while Spurs are 2/1 with Betfred. The draw is 12/5 with Unibet.
A narrow Everton win looks good for our money, with the Everton win by one goal 10/3 with BetVictor. With a firing forward in Romelu Lukaku, Spurs can only look in envy as their own hitman, Roberto Soldado seems to only score from penalties recently. The signs look good at Goodison.
Lukaku to be quick off the mark
Speaking of the burly Belgian, his First Goalscorer odds look pretty good at 11/2 with Coral. The Spurs back line may not have been tested much this season (apart from by... West Ham) and Lukaku will be sure to make sure they don't leave without a bruising.
Gylfi Sigurdsson looks a good bet for Anytime Goalscorer as well. The Icelander has netted a few for Spurs recently and scored against Hull in the Capital One Cup midweek. He knows a good scoring position when he sees one and is 7/2 with Stan James to grab a goal on Sunday.
While we're at it...
It may seem silly, but if you're going to bank on Spurs scoring, why not a penalty? Soldado never seems to miss, and they've been given quite a few this season... Spurs to score a penalty in the match is 8/1 with Bet365.
Cardiff Vs Swansea
Sunday 3rd November 2013: 4pm
The South Wales derby has always been a hotly contested encounter. These two really don't like each other, but could the passion have been dulled by the amount of overseas players to the derby (we're not just talking about the English ones)? Not if the fans have anything to say about it. Expect tempers to flare in this one. It's the first-ever top-flight meeting between the two.
Swans soar as Bluebirds fall
Cardiff may be at home, but the smart money is definitely on Swansea. Laudrup's boys are 13/10 with Boylesports to return the short distance home with all three points, while Cardiff are 5/2 with Unibet to grab the win. The draw is 12/5 with Ladbrokes.
Would a 2-0 Swansea win be beyond the realms of possibility? At 11/1 with Ladbrokes, we like the look of it. Swansea have a decent defence and a lot of firepower going forward, so don't bet against it.
Pleased to Michu, Cardiff fans
We wouldn't bet against him, so we'll bet on him: Michu to score anytime is 2/1 with BetVictor on Sunday. The Spaniard hasn't quite hit last season's heights yet, but he is still a dead quality player.
How Craig Bellamy would love to get a goal here as well. At 7/2 with SkyBet we'd love it if he did, as much for our sakes as his.
