Here at HTB4F we can’t wait for Sunday. Two zesty fixtures that will have us all glued to the telly as four of the Premier League’s top sides clash in a Super Sunday of epic proportions: Tottenham vs Man City and Liverpool vs Chelsea. Fancy a punt but not quite sure? Dithering and hesitating because you don’t want it going wronga with the wonga? Look no further – we’ve got top tips to leave your wallet weak at the knees.
The title race is pretty much over, but the top four spaces are still up for grabs with Arsenal and Everton eyeing that coveted fourth place spot. This weekend’s results could prove pivotal as the season reaches its final stages.
Starting simple – Who’s winning, who’s losing?
These are unbelievably close games to call, all four teams are strong. City are the league’s form team having won five of their last six matches, that said, away from the Etihad Stadium they miss that home advantage. Spurs will be hungry for that sky blue scalp, but I can’t see them sending City home in pieces. It’s hard to say if the return of Gareth ‘OH MY GOD HE DIDN’T JUST DO THAT?!’ Bale from injury will see him able to grab the game by the nuts and tell it who’s boss, or if he’ll be a little off the pace too. That’s why I’m backing a 1-1 draw here with the best odds coming from Betvictor at 13/2.
Brendan Rogers has managed to whip Liverpool into shape after a start to the season so saggy it made Roy Hodgeson’s face look taught. Still, with Chelsea looking strong and the whole team chipping in for the goals it’s going to be a difficult job for Liverpool . Chelsea’s away form is poor, losing three of their last four, but I’m tipping them to grind out a win at Merseyside with Paddy Power offering 5/4.
I’ll be putting the draw and the win together for a cheeky 10/1 double with Skybet.
Where are the goals coming from?
I’m tipping the talismanic Uruguayan Luis Suarez to open the scoring for Liverpool with Coral seemingly wanting to give their money away by putting their odds at 5/1. Back in London I can see Tevez bullying the Spurs defence and finding the net first for City with a naughty 6/1 with Ladbrokes.
Age seems to be lagging behind Stevie Gerrard this year as he's been bossing the midfield like never before for Liverpool this year, I fancy him to find the net for Liverpool so have a punt on him scoring any time with the best odds from Coral at 10/3. Whilst at the Lane it’s worth having a bang on Gareth Bale scoring any time. Do I even need to justify that tip? You can get the best odds with Betfair at 14/9.
Fancy varying the menu?
If you fancy something a little bit different then it’s worth heading over to Skybet and having a punt on Spurs and City to concede more than ten corners between them at 9/4. With two solid defences and some serious attacking quality the ball is going to be deflected, punched, blocked and sprayed over that by-line plenty. 9/4 is a steal.
Betvictor are drawing me in with their special market for Liverpool’s possession of the ball. My final tip for this week is that Liverpool will have less than 55% of the possession. Betvictor are going evens here which is tough to pass up on!
